Tryouts for 9-12 year-old leagues the 2010 season are complete.   (The Sunday baseball session that was announced at tryouts is not being held.)

You will be hearing from someone in regards to baseball and softball  team assignments by next Wednesday.

We normally like to complete drafts sooner than this, but the response to this year’s little league sign-ups was tremendous. There were a lot of last-minute registrations and lots more sign-ups than originally expected.

This is actually great news. Our league league exists to teach kids baseball and softball. When more kids sign up, more kids learn baseball and softball.

As a result, two things have been decided by the board:

1. We  are expanding the 9-12 year old “majors” baseball division from 6 teams to 7.  More details will be forthcoming, but be assured, that there has been a lot of discussion among the coaches and the little league board to establish the most balanced rosters possible while affecting the least number of our kids.
2. We will continue to have our usual 4-team girls’ softball schedule. All softball games will be on the island at our facilities.  (There was discussion of combining our program with Lower Township’s softball program.  We are not going to need to combine with them.  We want to thank the Lower Township LL coordinators for their graciousness and patience while we crunched the numbers.)
