GWLL Minutes 04-08-2009
Meeting called to order by Nicole Muratore, VP at 6:36PM
Public portion of meeting opened—there were no public issues to go before the board. Public session ended 6:37PM
Treasures report read and submitted by Tami—original submittal $15,125.45 including snack bar and general checking
It was pointed out that we should also be escrowing $ 6 per ticket expense per ticket sold in our Football Mania fundraiser. This portion must be returned per ticket for administration of program.
It was agreed upon to escrow $2000.00 thus adjusting our general checking and snack bar treasury total to $13,125.45.

Major league schedule, Minor league and Tee ball schedules accepted.
Tami— Tee ball will be played at Margaret Mace. There is a maximum of 12 games scheduled and a minimum to be played of 10 games per team must be played.
Ice cream party will be given at the end of Tee Ball season and paid for by treasury funds.
Tee ball will not participate with minor league party this year.
Kim will send out softball schedule by Thursday.
All coaches submitted to board for approval were approved pending outcome of mandatory background checks. (List enclosed)
Unofficial use of Higbee is 18th or 20th. Dan to find out.

Umpires training school held at Crest Pier was excellent. Recommended that the next years training should be during the week.
Jeanine reported we have volunteers for the concession stand she will work out schedule. Nicole also said that Wildwood Catholic students need volunteer hours so they will be glad to assist on many of our volunteer projects.
Nicole motioned not to pay volunteers for snack bar, or score room. Motion passed.
Nicole will obtain from Wildwood Catholic a list of volunteers.
Uniforms and equipment—Jeanine said waiting for uniform and accessories to come in before opening day. We will have them before then. Coaches should advise Jeanine when they have a practice with their team and she will try to arrange to bring uniforms to that practice.
Jim reported on Lightning detectors. One point:
High schools respond to this if they hear or see lightning they hold the game up for ½ hour then after 30 minutes, if there is still lightning and thunder. They cancel the game. This is still somewhat at the umpire’s discretion.
First aid and safety plan class is scheduled for April 29, and May 6th. One coaching representative from every team must attend. Jim will e-mail details that must be sent on to our coaches ASAP.
Nicole to have release form for parents to sign that their child does not have to use mask guards.
Blank medical forms will be distributed by Nicole and each manager must have parent complete and sign form.
Tom and Jim to look into a defibulator from fire and police dept
Special rule voted on to allow Dave Kutas to be on the field as a minor in an assistant coach capacity with his father.
By-law update:
ARTICLE IX: SOFTBALL
7. Each player will play at least two innings defensively and there will be a continuous batting order for all regular season games.

Section B League Requirements
4. All new Little League players ages 11 & 12 are required to attend 1 of 2 days of scheduled tryouts and will play at the majors baseball/softball level.
(Also, corrected a clerical error: We had two ARTICLE VII’s.)
Board agreed to have a baseball equipment and accessories exchange program. The following is how this program will operate in 2009:
Troy will put out a notification asking to bring in all baseball equipment to be distributed as an exchange program.
Drop off for used equipment will be at Cabrera realty.
Troy will create a mail box for player agents to answer requests from parents who need the equipment.
Field maintenance:
Dan recommended Commercial shop vac with extension cords for Higbee and Morey fields. The purpose of this would be to properly take up puddles of water on infields and then properly groom field before start of play.

It was noted that with the extensive use this spring that Morey field has received that the infield must be groomed.
Board voted to have one Junior League girls team. Any registrants after the sign up date will go on a waiting list.
