February Meeting Minutes

02/11/09

Excused from meeting Kim Gallagher

Meeting called to order by President Don Cabrera 6:10PM.

Open meeting discussion on double headers under the lights at Higbee field.

(Points of discussion)

  • Concession stand not as profitable when one game is played vs. two games
  • Some coaches would be unavailable for Saturday games due to work commitments
  • For same reason umpires will/maybe difficult to obtain for Saturday
  • Age variance 9/10 playing till 10pm is too late
  • Possibly we could start season then stop season for all stars then re-start season possibly ending season late in July or early August.
  • Move starting time of games back to 4:30 PM
  • Cannot start girl softball games early because school teams run late.
  • Keep strict two hour time limit (no warm-ups)
  • Commitment to complete baseball season just may mean night games

Board will consider all dialogue and is promising to do the best to minimize late night games without ruining the integrity of necessary scheduled games.
